Molitron Pollution Control Unit (PCU) · Models EPFA-24 to EPFA-144

Filter smoke and grease before they leave your kitchen.

A UL Listed stainless-steel filter unit that installs in your kitchen exhaust duct, between the hood and the fan. Three dry filter stages capture smoke particulate and grease vapor, with no water, pumps or chemicals.

The Molitron PCU, model EPFA-84: a stainless-steel enclosure with three access doors, the orange pre-filters visible through the braced inlet, and the controls enclosure at the outlet end.

Molitron · PCU Product BrochureHow it works

01

Exhaust from the hood enters the PCU and passes through three banks of filters in turn, pre-filters first, before it reaches the fan.

The PCU with its top cut away: a bank of orange pre-filters at the inlet, then two banks of green high-efficiency filters, in a stainless enclosure.

  1. F1 Pre-filter

    MERV 9

Multi-pocket pre-filters are the first bank the exhaust meets, catching the larger particles and grease.

  2. F2 High-efficiency filter

    MERV 14

Multi-pocket high-efficiency filters capture the fine smoke particulate and grease vapor that pass the pre-filter.

  3. F3 Final stage

    MERV 14 or carbon

A second high-efficiency bank, or optional carbon filters when odor treatment is part of the project. Carbon replaces F3; it does not add a fourth stage.

Odor treatment option

Carbon filters in the final stage

Where odor treatment is part of the project, carbon filters take the place of the F3 bank. Standard filtration is not comprehensive odor treatment; for broader odor control, Molitron’s MOAS can be evaluated with the PCU.

Dry filtrationNo process water, circulation pumps or chemical dosing.
